Fifa presidential candidate Gianni Infantino is pushing for the World Cup to be held in a whole region rather than just one or two countries.
In a Manifesto published on his website dedicated to developing football, the Uefa general secretary was expectant of a win at the February 26 event.
The idea is in agreement with Uefa’s decision to play Euro 2020 in 13 different countries.
Infantino is one of five candidates standing for the presidency, which is also vied by Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Bahraini head of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein of Jordan, South Africa’s Tokyo Sexwale and Jerome Champagne, a former FIFA deputy secretary general from France.
With a brewing credibility storm far from over, FIFA is looking to the elections to redeem its image.
